Nelson,
Just a small spec on the i200; 1985 I-200 coupe in polar white with Rothmans stripes,
17” compotives alloys, engine has frontera 2.4l block, original I-200 head, vernier pulley gears, power boost valve, 4 pot callipers to the front, standard I-200 drums & shoes to rear, original LSD
axle from new, 4 paddle competition clutch, janspeed 4 branch exhaust system (I think), electric facet fan to radiator along with original viscous fan, (2 fans in operation – 1 on switch).
Blistens all round. The car was reading 143 bhp on a dyno but the head gasket seal was gone at the time…therefore compression was lost…but id say tis around the 155bhp mark but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a few more cause the power and acceleration in her is nice!! She keeps into the mk1 white rally car on the straight and shes a 2.1 pinto with twin 45’s and stage 1-2 head. Lol and it keeps going after the mk1 hits her limit of 125 ha ha…
It was fully restored in 1996 and resprayed, and garaged till mid 04, bought off john after
xmas and now under lock and key!!!! (dry stored and used for the odd wkend now and then for vintage shows and rally wkends)
Haven’t really done anything to the car since I bought it from john, I need to relign the pads
on the paddle clutch, and the gearbox is noisey-the usual problem!!! Ders a seal gone in the lsd, its not really noticeable.
The other manta with the i240 decals is basically rally prepped, its yur standard 2.0 gte
engine bored out to 2.1, new rings & bottom end bearings and gaskets and new oil pump gears were fitted 10,000 miles ago again by previous owner, twin 45’s, disc conversion, modified peddle box, bolt
in safety devices cage, lsd – zf plate type (and she goes round and round!!! Lol), axle was rebuilt by previous owner over 4000 miles ago, torque tube also fitted, 15” revolution RFX alloys, front
braking system from a carlton (drilled vented discs), rear callipers from opel zafira, and discs from vectra, blistens all around (adjustable), facet fan to radiator, with original in operation also, oil
cooler fiited also. Harnesses also fitted to the standard gte interior, bucket seats (fixed) to be fitted shortly, gearbox is yur standard gte one. I was thinking of fitting the 400 kit to her but I wont
bother now, its just as nice the way it is now. An ex opel manta owners club member.
The other manta is a standard 1985 gte manta, nothing special about her apart from a very good
shell, oil cooler fitted, spots to the front. Opel astra callipers to front, new vented discs to front.
The pics of the escorts….don’t do anything with them….we’re trying to get a classic ford
feature in the next few months…if you know wat I mean….sound….dat anglia is the business!!! 2.1 pinto, rs2000 running gear, race cam, twin 45’s Webbers, rally prepped (caged, buckets, harnesses etc.)
Cheers
Barry
