We bought this car not driving with an attempt at fitting a 16v already started. We did not have a use for the car, but liked the challenge of getting it going were a ‘reputable’ garage had failed.The engine was running stock injection (motronic 2.1) but with an 18s manta distributor fitted to the front, no air idle regulator, a FWD sump still on the engine and a carlton 1.8 gearbox bolted tight up into the tunnel! We managed to run the injection (with a few tweeks) without most of the missing sensors, by substituting reistors to the values the ECU expected to see, and using the mechanical distributor running off the front pulley independant of the managment system. It was a fkn rocket ship!!!  We finished the car in starmist black and sold it on and are still amazed a few of years later to see it still racing around with the ECU getting bullshit readings from all the non existant sensors.
