The Opel turbo 16v was only made for a couple of years so they hold their value well. If you do manage to get one they are fitted in a similar manner to the 2.0 16v injected plant, but the PS engine mount
has to be moved 100mm forward of the engine cradle cross member.
I am fitting them to two cars at the minute. The standard 16v is such a common conversion that you can buy manifolds and systems off the shelf from Rally Design (raldes.com). You must build a system
for the turbo engine and modify the radiator area to accept an intercooler ( the cosworth 4x4 intercooler is a favourite)
The engine delivers 205bhp stock, 220bhp with the cossie intercooler and 300bhp easily with various chip upgrades.
A bit of a waste of an engine in the original front wheel drive car, so the Manta is a good home for the it. Who wants to go fast in a straight line when you can go sideways and get some use out of those
big side windows.
